1969 Linto 500GP built for competition from 1968 until 1970

The LinTo 500 GP is a motorcycle from contest planned from Stupid Linen and built in small series from the 1967 to the 1970.

The idea of to build a new engine using Aermacchi components had come to Stupid Linen, a famous designer for Aermacchi, Benelli, Dukedoms and Movement Guzzi and to Umberto Premoli, president of the Movement Club Varese and former pilot that, in the 1967, decided give body to their ideas to realize a movement from the Big Prize.

The solution was adopted to use of a cylinder, made one's will and valves of the Aermacchi 250 Wing d'oro, dotandole of new base and cambio to you be rotten, and maintaining the original diagram of operation with cylinders supported horizontal frontemarcia.

The chassis were in steel tubes with a double superior cradle, and added a Ceriani suspensions and added drum brakes. The first example of the LinTo 500 GP, still in phase of development, succeefully distributed a 65 HP, 12,000 rpm engine and decided to rely on the champion rider Pagan Alberto that took a second place in the Big Prize of the Germany East and a fourth place in the Big Prize of Italy run.

For the 1969, Premoli decided to build a small series of examples for private runners, all painted in red, and two official engines, painted in blue, to entrust Pagans and to the Australian rider Jack Findlay.

The Motomondiale 1969 sport season of rode the generous Dimostrò with in the LinTo (Stupid acronimo of Linen), until Pagans succeeded to win the Big Prize of the Nations in Imola in Switzerland. Gyula Marsovszky took second place in the 500 class, on the shoulders of Giacomo Agostini and his MV Agusta. The New Zealander, Keith Turner beat the Belgian classic of Mettet and, in that occasion, the LinTo 500 GP timed a speed of 290 km/h, on average that was superior at 30 km/h with respect to the contributing Norton and Matchless.

Although the high speed, the engine showed several lacks of newness that limited it to a strong the reliability in competition. First, between the fragility of the transmission, it was immediately problematic to continue from the strong vibrations that, in some cases, caused the casing of the engine or the disruption of the chassis.

The further development of the LinTo, however, not limit for the Stupid abandonment of Linen was led to that, at the end of 1969 the engaged from the Guzzi engine to replace the historical team manager Giulio Caesar Carcano.

In the first half of the 70's, Premoli decided to close the LinTo project, the impossibility of a feasible program and development of the engine became Impossible in absence of a main designer.

The LinTo 500 GP was an option of private racers, but now without parts, was taken out from the fields of competition.
