The Fiat 1 or Fiat 1 Fiacre was produced by Fiat from 1908 to 1910, it had an engine capacity of 2200cc, which produced 16hp and the car had top speed of 70km/h.

The four cylinders were for the first time in a single block, taking cue from the Italian car manufacturer Aquila.

The Fiacre was produced around 1600 copies and intended to use taxis and sold not only in Italy but also abroad. It was used in New York City, London, Paris and other cities.

In 1908 was also founded Fiat Automobile Co. in the United States.


Production Facts

The 'Fiat Tipo 1', also known as the'12-15HP ', was an automobile manufactured by the Italian Fiat of 1910 in 1915.

In 1910, Fiat reiterates its full range of passenger cars and inaugurated a new name: Tipo. Qu'apparaissent Thus, at the same time Tipo 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 and 6.

The Type 1 is a car class, was fitted with an engine displacement of 1847 cm3 developing a power of 15 hp. It will be broken into several series:

  • The type 1 Fiacre will be 961 copies made.
  • The type 1A, filed in 1912, is an evolution of the Type 1. It retains the same engine as the Type 1 but increased to 18 hp. 1373 copies will be produced until the war in Italy in 1915.

1T * the type will be presented in 1920 and will be made 1316 copies until 1922. Designed specifically for taxis, a car will be highly sought after not only in Italy, but also abroad, Fiat 1 T equipped fleets in London, New York and Paris.
