1971 Lamborghini Espada Series 2

The Lamborghini Espada was a car built by Italian car manifacturer Lamborghini between 1968 and 1978. Based on the Marzal show car[1] at the 1967 Geneva Show and the Bertone Pirana, a radically rebodied Jaguar E-type, it was Lamborghinis' first attempt at a GT 2+2 sports car. 1217 cars were made, making it the most successful Lamborghini model at the time.

1971 Lamborghini Espada Series 2

The car was designed by Marcello Gandini. It was fitted with a a 3.9 litre V12 engine. While Lamborghini is best known for their sports cars, the Espada was a luxurious 2+2 seated grand tourer.

During its ten-year production the car underwent some changes and three different models were produced. These were the S1 (1968-1970), the S2 (1970-1972) and the S3 (1972-1978). Designwise, however, only minor details were changed.
